On the 5th floor in our Startup house we met CEO & Co-founder Patricia Möller from Poasana in a workshop with our in-house sustainability coach Karin Lintrup. Although they were at the end of their session, the energy was high and you could feel the excitement in the room.
Karin meets up with all companies in the Incubator program at least once to help them apply the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to their businesses. The goal with these sessions is to strengthen the business and help the entrepreneurs - in this case Poasana and Patricia with good and accurate arguments for when meeting with potential clients.
"I have a meeting with a potential customer tomorrow so it’s perfect for me to get this help from Karin and be prepared with great arguments", says Patricia.
During the first part of the workshop, Karin and Patricia talked through the SDG’s and decided which ones they could apply to Poasana and that they should focus on.
"It turns out that much of what we are passionate about and actively are working with, on a daily basis, can be summarized in the following goals: 3, 5.5, 8.1, 8.8, 12.4 and 12.5", says Patricia.
The topics of the chosen SDG’s is about good health and well being, gender equality, decent work, economic growth and responsible production and consumption.
As a sustainable company it’s important for Poasana to work with goals that are in line with their vision. The SDG 12.5 states “by 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling and reuse”. Since Poasana creates sustainable acoustic panels it's of much importance for them to minimize their waste and both reuse and recycle material. That’s one example of why they chose goal 12.5.
Poasana has a plan, a goal for why and a timeframe on how they are working with their chosen SDG’s.
"For June 1, 2022, we will launch a great fun and value creating collaboration with two well known brands where the goal we strive for is to shed light on and achieve improved environmental sustainability." - Patricia.
Poasana has been a part of our Incubator program for 1 year. It is a nordic design company who creates sustainable acoustic panels for your home, for a healthy sound environment. All acoustic panels are A-rated, which means that they have passed a test on how well they absorb sound and the test was performed by Research Institutes of Sweden AB (RISE).
"We have had these goals in our DNA since the beginning, but we now we received help to communicate how we work with sustainability which simplifies our communication and how we follow-up", says Patrica after finishing the workshop.
