Here are the game studios selected for the first edition of our new game studio support program, Haven! The program will provide participants with experts and peers to support them in building a sustainable future for their respective studios.
The six selected game studios have been chosen based on four parameters: Commercial potential, artistic potential, ambitions and mindset, and diversity representation. One of the goals for Haven is to improve the gender balance and the diversity in the games industry. Haven therefore aimed to include participants of all backgrounds and genders, which we’re very happy to have accomplished with these selections. The selected companies represent a wide variety of founders and games, which we believe have a good chance of impacting the industry.
Concretely, Haven consists of a series of workshops and continuous access to business advisors and peer support. The workshops are for the most part led by distinguished regional games industry experts, such as Astrid Refstrup from WINGS Interactive that will help the participants build their teams and culture, Robin Hjelte from Bloom & Gloom who will help the teams create a unified studio strategy and vision, and Alexandar Skronski from Ghost Ship Games, who will give the teams tools to do proper market research.
The first Haven is running September to December 2024. Applications for the spring 2025 edition opens later in the autumn.
Haven is run by Game Habitat and Minc in collaboration with WINGS and Nyföretagarcenter Syd. Find out more about Haven at www.gamehabitat.se/haven.
